Hand embroidered wall art - map inspired - sashiko and beads on green cotton in 7 inch bamboo hoop

£30.00
"Not All Who Wander Are Lost"

This piece was slow stitched and nomadic. I had it with me in my bag on so many journeys, sat in cafés and pubs... any free downtime where stitches could relieve restless fingers or mind. It's one of those pieces that came together in its own way, with the stitches gently curving to make paths. Appliqued cotton scraps became fields and the pathways meandered, crossing back on themselves in places, diverging in others. It was then finished with brightly coloured glass seed beads to add extra pops of colour and texture and to bring a three dimensional quality to the composition. It could be a map, a rendering of a landscape, or an expression of our mental journeys. Whatever and however it speaks to you will be the right interpretation for you.

The embroidery is neatly finished and ready to hang in its bamboo hoop. It measures 7 inches in diameter and would be a beautiful addition to any living space. It is stitched with cotton embroidery floss on a 100% green and cream coloured printed cotton ground. Absolutely unique and one of a kind, why not give this piece of contemporary fibre art a place in your home?
