Sweet Chestnut Eldritch Wand - 23cm long
SWEET CHESTNUT. (Castanea Sativa). Short Wand.
Naturalised hardwood. Very useful rot resistant wood running from white through pale to reddish brown with age. Grain can go from straight to spiral with uneven texture.
This wand is unusual in that it came from a long dead thick branch so this is nearly all darker heartwood with a spectacular grain colouring. It is stubby with a comfortingly chunky grip and an animals face is naturally present, the ear of which could act as a hanger or belt stop.
Overall length is 23cm.
Handle is 5cm.
Tapers from 20mm down to 18mm.
