Belper Goes Green

From 7th to 9th June 2024, ‘Belper Goes Green’ makes its triumphant return to the Derbyshire events calendar. Over three days at Belper Meadows Cricket Club, we celebrate the local community with music, talks, crafts, great food, cracking beer, and an environmentally-conscious approach.

What is Belper Goes Green?

‘Belper Goes Green’ is no ordinary festival. It’s a dynamic blend of Community, Eco, and Arts Festival. The festival is brought to you by Transition Belper, a group looking to reimagine the way we live, as part of an international movement (for more information visit transitionbelper.org).

Involving the community is at the heart of what we do at Transition Belper, with the entire festival run by a dedicated team of volunteers: from the person who greets you at the gate, to the many artists bringing the festival alive with their music and poetry.

The festival brings people together in a relaxed and uplifting environment, while sharing ways to reduce our impact on the planet. We know that the problem of climate change can feel overwhelming, confusing or just exhausting. At Belper Goes Green we want to show that it’s possible to make small changes that make a big difference, not just to the environment but to our physical and mental health, and that of our communities too.

But it’s not all serious… we’re here to have fun. Throughout the weekend visitors will discover a smorgasbord of live entertainment, a CAMRA real ale & cider festival, mouthwatering hot and cold food (including a range of delightful vegetarian and vegan options), enlightening green talks, a natural maze, a Toy Library to keep the little ones beaming, and a plethora of crafts and community art activities.

Weekend tickets are just £5.50! Get the dates in your diary and search ‘Belper Goes Green’ or visit transitionbelper.org/belper-goes-green for updates.
